Right Path Academy Financial Hardship Policy (Illinois and New Jersey Attorneys)

Financial Hardship Policy for CLE Courses

Right Path Academy is committed to making its continuing legal education programs accessible. Attorneys licensed in Illinois or New Jersey who wish to attend a Right Path Academy course, but for whom the course fee would create a financial hardship, may apply for financial assistance under this policy.

Financial assistance may be provided in the form of one or more of the following, in Right Path Academy’s discretion:

  • a full course-fee waiver

  • a partial course-fee waiver

  • a reduced course fee

  • a discount code for course registration

For any Right Path Academy course priced above US$500, any Illinois or New Jersey attorney who qualifies under this policy will receive at least a 50% reduction in the course fee. This policy applies to course tuition only and does not apply to meals, lodging, travel, taxes, or third-party processing fees, if any.

Eligibility

An applicant may be eligible for financial hardship assistance if the applicant is an attorney licensed in Illinois or New Jersey, and demonstrates that paying the course fee would create a genuine financial hardship. In evaluating requests, Right Path Academy may consider factors such as:

  • unemployment or underemployment

  • solo or small-firm practice with limited income

  • public-interest, legal-aid, or nonprofit employment with limited professional development funding

  • recent illness, disability, caregiving responsibilities, or other significant personal hardship affecting income

  • other documented circumstances showing that the course fee would be difficult to afford

Eligibility is determined case by case. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.

How to Apply

To request financial hardship assistance, please complete the Right Path Academy Financial Hardship Request Form and submit it before registering for the course, or before the posted registration deadline for the course.

Applicants should provide:

  • their name and contact information

  • Illinois or New Jersey bar number

  • the course title

  • a brief explanation of the financial hardship

  • any supporting information or documentation the applicant wishes Right Path Academy to consider

Right Path Academy may request additional information reasonably necessary to review the request.

Review Process

Right Path Academy will review all requests in good faith and on a confidential basis. Decisions will be made in a reasonable timeframe after the application is received. If approved, the applicant will be advised of the form of assistance being offered and how to register using that assistance.
